Certified Agile Facilitator Trainer
In order to be approved to deliver the Scrum Alliance’s Certified Agile Facilitator (CAF) course, trainer candidates must possess an elevated level of knowledge and experience in the practice of facilitation. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to convey their expertise through the validation and assessment of their educational content.

Certified Agile Facilitator Trainer candidates and applications must meet the following requirements:
- Must be an active Scrum Alliance certificant in good standing (free of Scrum Alliance Code of Ethics complaints or violations).
- Must hold, and visible on their profile, an active CSP-SM
- Must hold, and have visible on their profile, an active CAF certification.
- Must clearly describe their instructional path and goals, including their differentiating personal approach.
- Must validate at least 12 months, within the last 60 months, of facilitation experience, including key learnings and impacts to your trainings
- Experience may include: direct experience creating facilitated opportunities for a team/small group, interpersonal facilitation (localized conversations), visual facilitation in training/storytelling, and/or large scale facilitation (i.e, Open Space).
- For CSTs/CSATs, months of experience can include months since approval to deliver CAL and/or A-CSM. [WAIVED for CST approved to provide CSP-SM, CEC, and/or CTC]
- Must have facilitated or co-facilitated at least 8 facilitation courses within the last 60 months. At least one of these courses must be co-facilitated with a previously approved CST or CSAT CAF Trainer. These courses may be certified or uncertified. [WAIVED for CST or CSAT].
- Must submit mapped CAF training materials, which validate the most recent version of the CAF learning objectives.
- Must provide a thorough course offering overview for the submitted course, painting a portrait of the student experience. This overview must detail the minimum 16 hours of course instruction. Please credit all sources where appropriate and request appropriate permission(s) for photos, illustrations, etc. Please include with your application a list of sources to be acknowledged. It is YOUR responsibility as the candidate to make sure that you have appropriate rights and licenses to any materials you use.
- Must have participated in at least one Scrum Alliance event (Global or Regional Scrum Gathering or Agile Coaching Retreat) or Scrum Alliance sponsored event within the last 24 months.
- Must provide evidence of at least 2 instances of active community engagement in the agile/scrum community for at least 60 months prior to application. [WAIVED for CST, CSAT, CTC, and/or CEC].
- A CAF trainer candidate must successfully complete a Training Skills Assessment (TSA) after all course materials are approved [WAIVED FOR CST or CSAT].

Application updates or re-applications must be submitted through this platform. Applications expire after one calendar year and application fees are non-refundable.
