Certified Agile Facilitator Trainer 

In order to be approved to deliver the Scrum Alliance’s Certified Agile Facilitator (CAF) course, trainer candidates must possess an elevated level of knowledge and experience in the practice of facilitation. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to convey their expertise through the validation and assessment of their educational content.

Certified Agile Facilitator Trainer candidates and applications must meet the following requirements: 

  • A CAF Trainer candidate must be an active Scrum Alliance certificant in good standing (free of Scrum Alliance Code of Ethics complaints or violations). An CAF trainer candidate must hold an active CST ®, CSAT, CEC, and/or CTC certification. 
  • A CAF trainer candidate must hold, and have visible on their profile, an active CAF certification. 
  • A CAF trainer candidate must clearly describe their instructional path and goals, including their differentiating personal approach.
  • A CAF trainer candidate must validate at least 12 months, within the last 60 months, of facilitation experience, including key learnings [WAIVED for CEC and/or CTC]. Experience may include: direct experience creating facilitated opportunities for a team/small group, interpersonal facilitation (localized conversations), visual facilitation in training/storytelling, and/or large scale facilitation (i.e, Open Space).
  • A CAF trainer candidate must have facilitated or co-facilitated at least two facilitation courses within the last 24 months. These courses may be certified or uncertified.  At least one of these courses must be co-facilitated with a previously approved CAF trainer.
  • A CAF trainer candidate must submit mapped CAF training materials, which validate the most recent version of the CAF learning objectives. 
  • A CAF trainer candidate must provide a thorough course offering overview for the submitted course, painting a portrait of the student experience. This overview must detail the minimum 16 hours of course instruction. You may be submitting course materials and/or mapping that were co-created or are proprietary to your company/employer. For the purpose of evaluating your unique CAF trainer application, we want to see you, and your story, come across in your materials. Show us your personal, differentiating approach to facilitation. Please credit all sources where appropriate and request appropriate permission(s) for photos, illustrations, etc. Please include with your application a list of sources to be acknowledged.  It is YOUR responsibility as the candidate to make sure that you have appropriate rights and licenses to any materials you use.
  • A CAF trainer candidate must successfully complete a Training Skills Assessment (TSA) after all course materials are approved [WAIVED FOR CST or CSAT].

Application updates or re-applications must be submitted through this platform. Applications expire after one calendar year and application fees are non-refundable
